In Need of a Better Camera- Sewing Machine down:(

Hi. So I am kind of at a stand still right now for continuing the starting of my business Stitching Happiness. My sewing machine hand me down which is a very old, 12 years or more old, and temperamental has finally broken down completely:( I have been wanting to get a Brother embroidery machine for quite some time but they are in the $700- $1,000 price range. I am graduating from high school in a few days and am getting some gift money from that and I am hoping to gather enough to get one. But in the mean time an absolutely wonderful person, a mother of one of my RSD buddies, has a practically unused simple sewing machine and she is sending it to me as a gift :D I absolutely love her <3 She is my new favorite person. It should arrive Friday and I can't wait. Not just because I want to continue with my business but that I use sewing as a distraction from my pain and I am having a very hard time without it. I am also trying to find a way to buy personal labels for my product and a new camera to take better pictures of my product, I currently use my phone and the pics don't come out so well. While I've been waiting however I have been designing some new patterns. I can't wait to make them when my sewing machine arrives:) Well that's all for now,
With lots of love,
Taylor

Feature

So I've never done one of these feature things but I thought it was about time. The blog I am going to feature today is one of my all time favorites and the artist does magnificent plushies. I have loved their work for a very long time so I am not just mentioning them for the giveaway they are having. I absolutely love the dinosaurs that Leftz makes. Here's an example of one.
Go check Leftz out.

First Post

So here is another project I've been working on. I absolutely love the game angry birds and I wanted a plushie of them but they are like $25 a piece so I decided to make my own. I actually made this one a while back but now I am working on the pig from angry birds and the other birds. I used Obsessively Stitching's tutorial and it was so easy to follow. And personally I think mine turned out really well:) Even though my picture quality is pretty bad and I think I made the feather on the top of his head backwards. :/
And, well ,my sewing machine is officially dead:( and it happened right in the middle of me making a Hug Me plush..... so lame. Now I need to come up with $700 bucks, or more, to buy a new one. I want my new one to be an embroidery machine as well so I can upgrade what I am doing and produce so much more to make a real business. Oh, and my new sewing business is called Stitching Happiness :) Which is what I named this blog after.

My first goals for my business is:
  • Get a brother embroidery machine
  • Get a better camera to take better pictures of my work
  • Make a "photo booth" to take pictures of my work
  • Get my own personalized labels made that have my name brand and logo on them to out on my plushies and things
With lots of love,
Taylor
